Well, it’s the halfway mark. We’re doing pretty good with my main goal, but the fitness ones are really struggling. Here’s an update on my New Year’s Goals for this year:
- Reduce house debt by 44.11%.
Revised target: 35.29%, Actual: 38.83%. I tried transferring money from one bank to another, but the bank applied it to the loan instead. It’s not that big of a deal, because I was planning on putting at least that much toward it next month. It does make it look like we did better last month than projected though. In reality, we are still right on the graph, which will show up next month. Here’s a graph of our progress so far:

- Run a 5k.
This one is going to be tough. I haven’t worked out much over the past few months, so it’ll be hard to get back up to running 3 miles, let alone running in a 5k. - Work out at least 2 times per week.
I only ran once in June, and went on one bike ride with Brooke. - Add at least 2 products to archwayhometheateraccessories.com
I haven’t added any new products this month either. With it being summer, I’ve been spending most of my time outdoors. - Make our home more energy efficient.
Nothing this month. But I’ve made some real progress in this area so far this year. Just about the only thing left on my list is stuff in the basement, which isn’t as high of a priority. I knocked this one out early. - Participate in at least one bike race.
I’m still up in the air about the Tour de Donut that’s this month. I’d like to do it, but it’s the same day as my brother’s bachelor party. I haven’t been training, so I’d be really sore trying to play golf that afternoon with a bunch of the guys, but I’m really debating on doing it. We’ll see how it turns out. It’ll probably be one of those things I make a final decision about the day before. If I don’t do that race, I’ll have to find another one sometime before baby #2 comes.
I’ve been spending more time outdoors, but not so much on exercising. I’ve been enjoying my time with my daughter inside, too. She’s crawling all over the place, and it looks like she might start walking sometime soon. She’s turning one this month, so most things probably won’t change too much. We’ll see what happens.
