New Year’s Goals – Progress Update – Sixth Month

Well, it’s half-way through the year, so let’s see how I’m doing on my New Year’s Goals.

  1. Sell old house.
We haven’t found a buyer or a renter yet, so our house sits vacant.  Unfortunately, this means we’re making two mortgage payments right now.  The market in the area is really slow right now, and it’s hard to find someone to actually move in.
  2. Reduce non-house debt by 47.57%.
Due to us paying on two mortgages, and buying some extra stuff for the baby, we have fallen even further behind on this goal.  Reduced by 17.89% so far, where we should be more like 23.79%.  At this point, I’d be happy if we sold the house and didn’t even make a dime on it, just so we could stop paying additional toward it.  I hope we can sell it soon, so we can get back on track for eliminating debt.  Here’s a graph of how we’re doing so far.  See how we are getting further away this month?
  3. Be able to jog 5 miles without walking.
No change since last month.  I’m running 3 miles, once or twice per week.
  4. Do 100 push ups in 3 minutes.
Haven’t touched this in a few months.  I really need to start getting this back into my routine.
  5. Do 200 sit-ups in 3 minutes.
    See the push ups.

We really took a hit this month, since we had to pay two mortgages.  I really hope we can either sell our house, or at least get someone in there paying a portion of the mortgage for us.  I have already dropped the price of the rent a few times, and we still can’t get anybody to move in.  It’s been a really frustrating process, to say the least.  I’m sure God has some plan in mind for the house, but I’m really wishing He’d share it with us.
